Position: Applications Engineer
Duration: 6 months - conversion to full-time
Location: Greater Boston area

Bachelor' s Degree is required.


Responsible for analysis, coding, testing, maintaining, installing and/or deploying applications and related information technologies. Also responsible for the establishment, development and promotion of standard architectures, as well as hardware and software components. This person will be the Point of Contact / SME for a major platform – communication with the vendor, business, etc.


Secure Messaging Platform focus:
  • Become the technical and subject matter expert on a new secure messaging cloud platform that includes the Tiger Text product.
  • Be an expert resource for business/development teams that want to leverage the platform.
  • Perform administration and user support duties related to the platform (add/remove users/groups, run usage reports), debugging issues, monitor platform health, and act to keep platform running.
  • Provide support to end users, business groups, and development groups on the use of Tiger Text and other products/capabilities in the platform
  • Define, document, and put in place new processes to support the platform.
  • Create scripts to automate repeated tasks (for example, publish usage reports, add users).
  • Work with business to plan, implement, and manage incoming requests to get on platform.
  • Advise development teams how to connect/use the platform.  Should have some developer experience
  • Be the technical point of contact between company, Tiger Text, and other vendors that make up the platform.
  • Create training materials, give training to end users, onboard new teams.
  • Coordinate application, API, SDK upgrades with business and vendor


  • Ensure that applications and the related information technologies continue to meet the clinical and business requirements of the company.
  • Designs, codes or configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents and maintains large and/or complex programs, using a variety of applications and languages.
  • Monitors application health and security at a variety of levels utilizing various web, server and database monitoring tools.  Works to diagnosis and correct any system issues.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues. This includes identifying appropriate resources and potential solution with minimal guidance.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Coordinates with vendors on support tasks. Communicate issues and resolutions to support staff and management.
  • May provide assistance to junior level staff with more complex tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions.
  • May escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Mentor other staff as applicable.
  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Bachelor’ s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable


  • 5 – 8 years’ related experience; or a Master’ s degree with 3 years’ experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • Should have experience with application single sign on and identity/access management.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting issues
  • Scripting experience a strong plus
  • Development / coding background
  • General hardware experience is needed.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with producing standard and ad hoc reports
  • Application Support

  • Tiger Text or experience with another secure messaging platform a plus.
