Position: EpicCare Ambulatory Analyst

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 3 mo Contract-to-Hire

Job Description:
  • Participating as a project team member on practice specific or organization wide projects as assigned.
  • Working with the Epic Clinical Lead to monitor product development and work with vendor to keep staff current on all system optimizations and upgrades.
  • Performing in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software. Understanding the choices involved in application configuration, and impact/opinions of end-users.
  • Developing and maintaining proper documentation of support and customization materials for the activities and tasks assigned.
  • Supporting training and implementations as needed.
  • Acting as the primary support contact for the application and troubleshooting problems and questions from end users
  • Analyzing new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used
  • Familiarizing with physician practices' workflows and patient experiences within your organization
  • EpicCare Ambulatory Analyst integrating with a variety of systems, including scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, and inpatient.


  • 4+ yrs of related work experience and 2+ yrs of implementation experience as an EpicCare Ambulatory Analyst.
  • EpicCare Ambulatory Analyst Certification.
  • Bachelor’ s degree in Clinical, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or licensed healthcare professional desirable and/or four plus years of previous related experience.
  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records, Practice Management Systems and other ambulatory clinical software and applications.
  • Experience working with process owners and users in gathering requirements, creating specs, system design, and application design
  • Experience in Healthcare Information Systems, Application Support, IT or Clinical experience using the Epic EMR and have a solid understanding of workflows and configuration in an Ambulatory setting with decision support, order sets, reports and documentation tools.
  • Experience working with process owners and users in gathering requirements, creating specs, system design, and application design
  • Experience/certification in MyChart, Care Everywhere, Mobile Apps
  • Requires travel to Epic headquarters in Verona, WI to attend training classes, as needed.
  • A dependable car and/or transportation to practice offices, training locations, and other off-site meetings.
