Position: Financial Reporting & Accounting Analyst
Location: Stamford, CT - Hybrid Onsite/Remote
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 9 months
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial accounting and financial reporting of Capital Management, Ceded reinsurance and Alternative Capital vehicles. Providing analysis to the investors and management. Ensuring internal and external reporting is complete and accurate. Maintain open communication between all levels of management related to Ceded Reinsurance. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to any stakeholder as well as take initiative and demonstrate accountability.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare annual audited and/or unaudited financial statements for directors, investors and the BMA
- Preparation of Monthly/Quarterly Financial Statements for investors
- Preparation of NAV and submission of NAV to investors
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with year-end audit queries
- Organize the preparation, review and settlement of bordereau reports
- Assist in the continuous development and improvement of Ceded Re and Alternative Capital financial reporting.
- Prepare robust analysis of ceded variances to Budget, Forecast and other Internal Reporting
- Able to work long hours during busy periods in order to complete duties and to meet tight deadlines, as required

- Colleagues in different functional areas such as portfolio management, actuarial, operations and compliance.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Necessary to perform the job:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting/Finance) from four-year college or university
- CPA or other accounting designation
- Big 4 auditing experience of reinsurance companies or 3 years’ experience in reinsurance accounting
- Ceded Reinsurance and ILS experience would be an asset
- Must demonstrate sound knowledge of GAAP as it relates to the reinsurance industry and alternative investments
- Willingness and capability to work long hours during busy periods
- Must have strong computer and interpersonal skills
- Must be proactive and able to meet challenges as they arise
