Job Description
This is a Database Developer position will be responsible for writing and maintaining PL/SQL code on Oracle. This role will be a conduit between Java developers and DBAs. Strengths in technical experience and the ability to interface with all user levels, and an excellent teamwork mindset are required.
Responsibilities
- Writing PL/SQL code on Oracle for Stored Procedure, Triggers, Packages and Functions.
- Help the team with modernizing database code by porting the code from PL/SQL to Java and migrating Oracle to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
- Conduct regular system tuning, performance monitoring to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure database connectivity from applications and devices is reliable and free of errors.
- Perform troubleshooting actions when database problems arise.
- Create reports and fulfills custom requests for users.
- Assist with user support as needed.
- Maintain availability after hours/occasionally work on weekends to perform database maintenance as needed.
- Research technology solutions.
- Diagnose database issues and performance issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolution for database incidents.
- Serve as a technical expert in the area of Oracle/Database Applications Development and database maintenance.
- Help to resolve the database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- Manage and monitor and system performance.
- Working with Oracle Support.
- Continuously learn new technologies and techniques to apply to product solutions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- 8+ years’ experience supporting database systems, Informatica ETL.
- Solid understanding of SQL/PLSQL best practices.
- Experience with database administration in cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of database and query-tuning techniques.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field OR an Associate degree in Computer Science or related field with relevant work experience.
- AWS certification is preferred.
- PostgreSQL certification is preferred.
