Position: Lab/Manufacturing IT Engineer Location: Providence, RI or Boston, MA Job Type: Contract Duration: 6 months + long term extensions
Job Description:
Our client looking for a Business Systems Analyst in the Manufacturing Systems group. The candidate should be experienced with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics and laboratory instrumentation/scientific software and be comfortable working directly with operators, analysts, engineers, and scientists in a highly dynamic and innovative pharmaceutical company. Based in our Providence manufacturing facility, this role represents the highest hands-on level of support for commercial and custom-developed equipment as well as lifecycle ownership of computer related systems for data acquisition, analysis, LIMS, MES, process data historian and other Informatics systems. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute high impact and strategic activities in the manufacturing and lab technology landscape.
Requirements:
Extensive cross platform hardware and software design and support at an advanced academic, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other scientific laboratory environment.
Demonstrated experience with manufacturing equipment, benchtop instrument and controller software/hardware troubleshooting and data integration.
Experience in establishing controls to ensure data integrity and the ability to guide use cases into best practices for raw data management.
Working knowledge of administering and maintaining Microsoft operating systems, domains, databases as well as common browsers
Experience in securely connecting and administering manufacturing and lab equipment leveraging network, domain and security infrastructure including endpoint protection, patching, policies, remote management, authentication, backup/recovery, imaging, archiving, firewall specification, certificate management, ITIL, etc.
Knowledge of discrete manufacturing systems, including robotics, visual inspection.
Experience with networking and administering packaged PLC/SCADA based manufacturing automated systems such as Sartorius, Pall, Thermo, Cytiva, PBS, Millipore Sigma, etc
Experience with biology and chemistry equipment from Nova, Lovo, Waters, Thermo, Perkin Elmer, Agilent, etc.
Experience with manufacturing and lab integrations using serial, TCP/IP, OPC, XML, REST, SOAP with data historian, MES, LIMS, etc.
Knowledge of enterprise platforms for chromatography, LIMS, data management, and electronic lab notebooks.
Proven track record of implementing custom software and workflow solutions for process operations, data acquisition, sample management or lab analysis.
Ability to work independently and as a team member to research, configure and diagnose equipment and system failures and triage with vendors as needed.
Experience with GxP validation of equipment and computer related systems used in pharmaceutical processes.
Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands on experience with scientific software for instrument control and data analysis.
Experience in using or supporting manufacturing and quality lab data workflows.
Experience with data science tools such as JMP, Seeq, Matlab, Tibco, Python
