Position: Principal Software Application Developer Location: Remote (EST or CST) Job Type: Contract to hire Duration: 6+ months
Job Description
Here are the responsibilities and technical skills required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Participate in setting technical standards and application architecture, setting a long-term vision for products
Research, track and understand new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to application development
Develop, integrate and implement applications components including front-end development, server-side development and database integration
Oversee technical tasks of other application developers as well as mentor them.
Provide Technical leadership in solving complex programming tasks, design technical solutions, and manage multiple development tasks through implementation
Develop software applications and functionality in accordance with business requirements and technical specifications.
Design, Write code and Unit Test for web applications.
Take ownership and work towards a resolution.
Identifying and troubleshooting software problems, investigating potential causes and implementing solutions.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and work with the team to deliver web applications on schedule.
Assist and collaborate with other team members on product development tasks.
Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
Openness and ability to learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced agile environment.
Work closely with QA team members to facilitate extensive testing and resolve issues.
Collaborate with Software Developers, Product Owner, UX Designer and other team members to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web and mobile-based business applications
Identify the areas for improvement in the current application and propose solutions
Provide assistance to other staff with complex tasks that require considerable judgment and initiatives.
Support the application in addressing the production issues in a timely manner.
Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time
Excellent analytical skills as well as communication skills both verbal and written.

Unit/Integrating Testing
Other Desired Skills and Experience:
Strong Database skills with Microsoft SQL
Experience with Test Driven Development is a plus
Experience with source control management systems and Continuous
Integration/Deployment environments
Experience working in Agile development team
Expertise with Responsive Web design is preferred.
