Job Description
Position: UX Designer
Location: 100% remote (Kansas City area)
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Duration: 3-month
Essential Functions
- Adhere to the creative direction established by the UX team as documented in style guides, design guides, and design libraries
- Where applicable, assist with the advancement and evolution of design systems
- Represent the UX design practice across the organization
- Turn internal client goals and objectives into design prototypes that reflect current user-centered design principles
- Lead, advance, and present project work to various stakeholders including product owners
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, product managers, and developers to implement designs
- Continuously learn and grow expertise in the UX field
- Evaluate existing sites for viewport adaptation, aesthetic appeal, and ease of use
- Partner with UX Research to support and participate in user testing functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Ability to adhere to the creative direction for a multitude of brands in the Commerce Bank suite of products
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate interactions with all levels of the organization
- Familiarity with and working knowledge of UX industry best practices including processes and methodologies
- Proven capability to communicate complex design concepts and customer journeys to a variety of customers
- Experience working with, maintaining, and evolving style guides, design guides, and design libraries
- Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate ideas to developers and product owners
- Experience with a variety of design tools with a focus on Figma
- Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges
- Multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Analytical mind with business acumen
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Attention to detail and proven experience in information and interaction design
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in design or computer-related programs such as Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 3+ years of Interaction Design experience required
