<![CDATA[Software Engineer]]> Description:

Our client has a Docker contain orchestration platform called Rancher. It is tasked with scheduling containerized applications in their Amazon private cloud. As part of this platform, the company provides a ' universal' module that can talk to their DNS appliance, infoblox, via a client using the vendor published API.

The infoblox API as well as the Rancher application that would use it are all open source on Github source control repository.

The task would be to pull down a copy of the Rancher application and then the Infoblox code to then make a client application for the universal Rancher module. Both of these are written in the Go programming language.

There are upwards of ten other modules that use other DNS products' API that Rancher has on their code repository for examples, all are ~ 150 lines of code.

This consulting assignment would be to contribute code to the Rancher folks' repository that utilizes all of the functionality needed such that they are happy with code quality etc.

This can be achieved by downloading the free Rancher application, possibly downloading the free virtualbox application or getting a free Amazon account for your web service platform, creating a mock server that can log calls that would go to an infoblox appliance and then iteratively developing the client to field requests that Rancher would tell it.

The first three (downloading Rancher and Virtualbox, and a mock server are approximately 3hrs of time. The development cycle may be 10-15 hours with maybe another 5 to interface with me to try it out before publishing to Rancher Inc.

Requirements:
 • Go programming preferred
 • Experience with Rancher, Docker a plus
